🚨 ATM & Cash Machine Safety Advice 🚨

The Petts Wood Safer Neighbourhood Team would like to remind residents to stay vigilant when using ATMs and cash machines.

✅ Cover the keypad when entering your PIN. ✅ Check the machine for anything unusual or loose before use. ✅ Be aware of anyone standing too close or watching you. ✅ Put your cash away immediately and discreetly. ✅ If you feel uncomfortable, cancel the transaction and leave the area. ✅ Never accept help from strangers at a cash machine.

Criminals may use distraction techniques, card skimming devices, or attempt to observe your PIN. If something doesn't look right, don't use the machine and report your concerns to the bank and police.

If you witness suspicious behaviour around a cash machine, please report it by calling 101 or online via the Metropolitan Police website. Always call 999 in an emergency or online at www.met.police.uk
